Itaú’s íon app gains Investment Review function
A new optimization tool will help investors identify possible portfolio changes, making it easier to target products with better risk-return ratios
September 2023 – Those who invest are often in doubt as to whether they have the best products in their portfolio in light of their objectives, risks, returns, and macroeconomic conditions. The same doubt emerges when it comes to reallocating funds that were in investments with set maturity dates and that are returning to liquidity. It was with these dilemmas in mind, and based on customer feedback, that Itaú started offering the Investment Review tool, which aims to act as an optimizer for customers’ portfolios within the íon app.
Using algorithms, this new feature will be able to identify, in íon users’ portfolios, whether there are investment products close to maturity, or whether there are investments with rates considered high compared to the market and low performance or profitability projections. The app will also be able to check whether there are excess allocations in any category, such as post-fixed products.
After identifying possible changes and reallocations in users’ portfolios using cutting-edge algorithms, the Investment Review tool will list the options available to the user, who will then be able to make investments in just a few clicks. Alternatively, the user will be able to seek additional guidance on the recommendations directly from íon’s investment experts, via videoconference, chat, telephone or in person. Such features distinguish íon from other robot advisors on the market, which usually only optimize investors’ portfolios when new money comes in.
In the app, it is also possible to view profitability projections for products with suggested trades and an overview of the user’s current portfolio compared to the portfolio recommended by the bank for different investor profiles. As past returns are no guarantee of future profitability, the journey uses the projection model available on íon.
“The Investment Review tool provided by íon represents yet another initiative focused on providing the best experience. It brings together contact with specialists and the digital environment (self-service) in the investment journey for our clients,” says Claudio Sanches, Director of Investment and Pension Products at Itaú Unibanco. “In this way we are able to offer, in a simple and agile way, relevant information to users on ways in which their portfolios can be improved, increasing the autonomy of their decision-making and granting them expert advice to help them identify the best times for redemptions and investments.”
