Itaú announces card limit display in its SuperApp
Movement towards greater transparency and autonomy will impact customers of Uniclass, Latam Pass and Azul cards
July 2024 – Following the announcement of new features for cards within its SuperApp, Itaú Unibanco announced that as of August 28 it will display the limit of Black and Infinite Uniclass, Latam Pass and Azul cards in the app. This change, based on exploratory conversations and feedback from customers of a group of products, aims to offer greater purchasing power visibility and make it easier for customers to monitor their card spending.
The new feature will benefit customers of the Itaú Uniclass Mastercard Black, Latam Pass Itaú Mastercard Black, Latam Pass Itaú Visa Infinite (except for the Itaú Personnalité version) and Azul Itaú Visa Infinite cards, who will now be able to view the value of the limit on their cards directly on the Itaú channels with all the security offered by the Itaú SuperApp.
According to Rubens Fogli, Director of Cards, Accounts and Payments at Itaú Unibanco, the decision to implement this function was based on positive feedback received during a pilot carried out in April with 70,000 of the bank’s customers. And it is the result of the active listening that is essential for the continuous evolution of the bank’s products. “Sometimes customers had doubts about the limit they had available to make a purchase, and now the visibility will be clearer. This move follows our nature of being as transparent as possible with our customers.”
In addition to viewing their card limit, customers will be able to use Itaú’s SuperApp for various functions, such as requesting a limit increase (subject to credit analysis) and transferring limits from other cards. “We are living in a new era of experience, and this is what we will deliver to our customers. With clear visibility and the new functionality to simulate purchases, we will offer more security, autonomy and convenience in their daily lives,” Fogli added.
